Ford’s popular 6.7L PowerStroke diesel engine, employed in 2011-present F-series pickup trucks, can now be fortified with special high-strength connecting rod bolts from industry leader ARP.
Made from the proprietary ARP2000™ alloy steel, they are nominally rated at 220,000 psi tensile strength. And, like other ARP products, all manufacturing operations are done in-house at the firm’s California facilities to the industry’s most stringent standards. Special steps are taken to ensure a superior product, including rolling (not cutting) threads after the heat-treating process to provide up to 20-times the fatigue strength of ordinary fasteners.
Other products manufactured by ARP to enhance the 6.7L “Scorpion” engine include head studs, main studs, harmonic damper bolts, exhaust manifold bolts, plus special flywheel and flexplate bolts.
Additional information can be obtained through ARP’s dedicated diesel portal, www.ARPdiesel.com, or by calling the company’s tech line at 800-826-3045. A free printed copy of the new 2024 ARP catalog can be requested at www.ARP-bolts.com.
